[Presentation] The Role of Nonprofits in Economic Development
Daniel Payette is the Executive Director of the Blackhawk Hills Regional Council. Based in Rock Falls, BHRC provides planning services in Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, and Whiteside counties in Northwest Illinois. It is overseen by an eighteen-member council, consisting of three representatives (one county board member, soil and water member, and at large member) from each of the six counties.
As Northwest Illinois’ economic development district and regional planning organization, BHRC engages in community and economic development, natural resources conservation, and planning in Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, and Whiteside counties. Located in the Driftless Area, its prairie foothills, and adjacent to the Mississippi River in the tri-state area, we seek to improve the quality of life for communities and individuals.
Plan to attend THRIVE: Nonprofit Leadership Symposium at the Stephenson County Farm Bureau in Freeport. This full-day event is designed for nonprofit executives and board members. Sessions will empower leaders in areas including strategic planning, development via storytelling, the power of collaborations, the role of nonprofits in economic development, and more! Attendees will walk away with ideas, tools, & strategies that can be implemented into their organization.
